Rosemary Shockey

Born in Philippi, West Virginia
Sept. 16th 1940
Died July 18th 2000
Rosemary was a very caring and giving person who loved nature and all living creatures. The only things she hated were intolerance and ignorance. She owned & operated an Arts & Crafts store "The Pioneer" in Clarksburg West Virginia. She made & sold through her store leather goods, such as purses, belts, wallets etc..
She had a B.A. in Art from Fairmont State in West Virginia. She was a wonderful artist. She amazed me; when she was sick, she was still able to paint beautifully even though it must have been extremely difficult for her. She had incredible patience, sometimes it would take her 5 minutes to draw a simple line.
She spent her last years at Alderson Broddus Nursing Facility in Philippi W.V. where she died of HD. I believe she had HD for at least 19 years. She was a great mom and I miss her very much, but I believe she is in a safe place. I would like to share some of the artwork she has done during her life. Feel free to click on any of the pictures & paintings.
